Gwaith digidol - Digital imaging
A photo taken and sent to me from my son's phone from the summit of Snowdon became the backdrop for this image based on 'raising the flag on Iwo Jima' by Joe Rosenthal. I did it for my own amusement to try out new techniques on the computer. It consists of about 25 seperate layers carefully arranged, manipulated and shaded to form the image above. That old saying of 'the camera never lies' is obviously very redundant in the 21st Century.

Painting for myself
Transience & change
After many hours 'in the field' watching light and colours changing in the landscape, I realised that other things change around us on a more mundane level. these are a series of studies employing heavy impasto and very subtle colours to help me work out new techniques for my more 'traditional' paintings
